Against All Authority

The Restoration of Chaos & Order (2006)

Against All Authority is one of those bands with a purpose. Sure they shred all kinds, but their music speaks about politics, so you know their’s brains behind their operation. This band is always tagged with two words, well one word and one acronym; political and D.I.Y. (do it yourself). These guys have been talking politics and putting out their own albums since the bands inception in 1993.

Although this maybe their first full-length CD in about 6 years, their previous one, 24 Hour Roadside Resistance was released in 2000, this new album shows that even time away has not ruined Against All Authority’s sound or cause. Prior to this release however, and during the six-year absence, the band did put out a couple of EP’s and a compilation with rare tracks.

The Restoration of Chaos & Order flows in perfect AAA fashion with punk/ska riffs, that will make any kid want to skank (no that doesn’t mean whore around, it means dance a la ska styles). If you’re not into ska worry not, there are only hints of trumpet elements in here, the rest is purely punk sounding.

Compared to their previous releases this album seems a bit tighter. It’s packed with sing-alongs and punk rock anthems that would have their legion of fans wanting more.

I never like to ruin a CD by talking about all the little tidbits in it, but the only thing I will say is their lead off track, same title as the album, is interesting because it has a sampling of a speech given by President George Bush Jr..

I haven’t heard a bad thing about this disc nor did I expect to. Cheers to AAA for making another timeless record!
