Chill-fi artist Carter Fox unveils his latest single, “Sit Back and Lift Off,” a track from the upcoming Lofi & Chill, Vol. 3 compilation, set to be released May 3rd via Millennium Jazz Music.

“Sit Back and Lift Off” finds its strength in simplicity, offering a groovy vibe simultaneously relaxing and rhythmically engaging. With its minimalist arrangement, the track mirrors a trio performance where each instrument adds to the whole without overpowering the others.

According to Fox, “Sit Back and Lift Off” was inspired by the night before astronauts launch into space, “Dealing with the excitement, anxiety, calmness, and bravery that can come with facing the unknown.”

Known as the ‘Soulful Traveling Spaceman Bassman,’ Carter Fox made his debut at the age of 15. This was followed by touring and recording with R&B artist Freddie Jackson. He has also worked with Grammy winners such as Pablo Batista, Leon Huff, David Ivory, Skrillex, Flux Pavilion, and Adventure Club.

Blending hints of jazz and hip-hop savours, “Sit Back and Lift Off” glides on gentle, softly gleaming keyboards, riding a mellow rhythm composed of a subtly thumping kick drum, side-stick snare, and sensitive bassline. The feel and mood of the melody reveal a dreamy imminence, awash in laidback tones.

“Sit Back and Lift Off” fashions a floating dreamscape, opening a door into a hypnagogic world of halcyon serenity and equanimity.
