Sock Drawer – “Make Your Mind Up” [Song Review]
Like a serpentine tendril from a Venus flytrap, Sock Drawer’s “Make Your Mind Up” wraps itself around listeners and pulls them in.

Brighton-based indie-alt-pop duo Sock Drawer recently released their latest single, “Make Your Mind Up,” co-produced by James Dring, who is also producing Sock Drawer’s debut album, currently in progress.
Talking about the making of “Make Your Mind Up,” the pair shares, “This track was made using Logic Pro x. The guitar lead was plugged into input 3, and the synth, input 4, ensuring maximum audio quality.”
Cultivating an air of mystery, the duo prefers to remain largely anonymous. The video, directed by Thomas Siriani, who takes on the lead role as Favio, an Italian hunk with long flowing locks, depicts Favio being worshipped by a woman named Clit Eastwood, who takes Favio prisoner and ferries him to a hell-like milieu.
“Make Your Mind Up” rolls out on a bluesy, alt-pop melody that conjures up suggestions of Prince and The White Stripes – stripped down and wonderfully visceral. Falsetto vocals, whistling tones, and a lusciously sleazy sax give the melody a sensual motion that’s wickedly enticing.
Like a serpentine tendril from a Venus flytrap, “Make Your Mind Up” wraps itself around listeners and pulls them in.
