Up and coming Los Angeles garage rock band, Canto, are coming hot onto the scene with a brand new 5-song EP, a follow up to their debut album, HA HA HA. They have just offered up the single off of the Ride Away EP, “Dirty Water” for stream on their Soundcloud (listen below). Although, ironically, “Dirty Water” is a mock homage to Boston, this is Canto’s interpretation of the 1966 garage band classic by another California rock band, The Standells, who some have called the “Godfathers of Punk.” The EP will be available April 9th for free download through the band’s official Facebook page.

In Cages are an alternative rock/indie quartet from Hillsdale, New Jersey. The band counts the Pixies and Sonic Youth as its major influences and each member has had a long history of playing music in various local groups. Like most great bands, these guys don’t pay much attention to modern musical trends, instead focusing on their own brand of modern indie rock.
