Delivering on its promise to be the “most extreme tour of the year”, we caught up with the Summer Slaughter Tour in Berkeley, CA on August 10th and watched as Between The Buried And Me, Born of Osiris, Erra, & co. levelled the venue.
Day one of Bloodstock Open Air saw 15,000 metal fans enjoy a day of pure heavy metal that included the likes of Lovebites, Emperor and headliners Judas Priest.
Day two of Brutal Assault Festival featured an amazing line up with headliners Opeth and Suffocation.
As with all Mew tours, lead singer Jonas Bjerre’s wonderful and strange visuals accompanied a majority of the songs performed – Visuals featuring heavily on spiraling Kaleidoscopic visuals that were projected upon the band as they played.

The heavens opened on Sunday and with torrential rain and high winds predicted to last the rest of the day, it looked like Bloodstock was in danger of ended up a bit of a wash out. Still, that didn’t stop Italian thrash metallers Arthemis from having an absolute blast on the main stage. The rain lashed down on the band as they shredded through their thirty minute set but, judging by the smile plastered across the face of frontman Fabio, it looked like the Italians loved every minute of it.
Making their eagerly awaited return to the UK. US metal titans Lamb Of God headlined the main stage on the second day of Bloodstock delivering a set that lived up to their top billing. Airing old and new tracks including “Ruin” and “Ghost Walking”, Lamb Of God signed off day two of Bloodstock Open Air in brutal style.
