Book Review
Corey Taylor – “You’re Making Me Hate You: A Cantankerous Look at the Common Misconception That Humans Have Any Common Sense Left” [Book Review]
“You’re Making Me Hate You,” the hot new book from enigmatic Slipknot/Stone Sour front man Corey Taylor, is a hilarious, at times offensive, extremely politically incorrect diatribe that I could not put down.
“You’re Making Me Hate You,” the hot new book from enigmatic Slipknot/Stone Sour front man Corey Taylor, is a hilarious, at times offensive, extremely politically incorrect diatribe that I could not put down.
The book is pretty much the hysterical, over-the-top ramblings and observations of both daily life and things that disturb Mr. Taylor. Nothing escapes his eagle eyes and even the most mundane things send him into fits of uncontrollable rage. Take for example this passage on the issue of using turn signals when making lane changes:
“…You people can’t do something simple like pull up or down on a thin plastic/metal stem protruding from the side of the steering wheel, well within use of the stupid little hands of yours. For fuck balls sake, its use and meaning for existence is in the name of the contraption itself! It’s a turn signal! You use it when you are going to Fucking TURN!”
This is a quick, fun read (probably great for the beach or pool) that does not require deep thought or concentration; it is basically just the well thought out ramblings of real life situations and experiences we all deal with at one time or another. Simplicity aside, I thoroughly enjoyed the book. I feel Taylor hits the proverbial nail on the head 99 percent of the time and is able to vividly verbalize what we are all thinking.
