LEYKA Release Their Massive Metalcore Single “Affliction”
German-based metalcore band LEYKA has released their latest single, “Affliction,” from their upcoming EP, ‘Resurrection.’
Mainz-based metalcore band LEYKA has released “Affliction,” the second single from their upcoming EP Resurrection! Along with the single release comes an accompanying music video.
After their last single “Sorrow,” which played heavily with elements of melodic hardcore, LEYKA return with “Affliction” which focuses more on classic metalcore elements. Fast riffs and hard vocals, paired with solid melodies and a heavy breakdown.
Lyrically, LEYKA once again dives into deep emotions and with “Affliction” presents a song that sheds light on the dark facets of recurring destructive relationships. The haunting lyrics describe the emotional journey through guilt and self-doubt, while the lyrical self holds up a mirror to itself: Is it myself who is lost in a whirlpool of illusions? Despite the darkness that permeates the lyrics, the song conveys a clear message of hope and the pursuit of self-determination.
LEYKA is a German metalcore band founded in 2022. Despite their relatively short tenure, they have achieved some significant milestones, including the release of their debut EP Requiem, as well as performances alongside scene greats such as Of Virtue, Acres, and Born From Pain.
