P!NK Brings Her Summer Carnival to Fenway Park [Photos]
Pop superstar P!nk brought her “Summer Carnival” tour to the iconic Fenway Park and you can check out photos from the glitzy spectacle here…
P!NK took Boston by storm Monday and Tuesday with her Summer Carnival Tour. The beloved singer played at the historic Fenway Park in front of thousands of fans along with openers Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo as well as Grouplove. Although I only had access to the first three songs, this was easily one of the most amazing productions I have ever seen.
The set was covered in illuminated screens and colourful props; one of such was a giant mouth fifty feet or so above the stage. As the music began, the mouth opened up to reveal P!NK attached to a harness of bungee cords. After a quick wave, the artist dropped from the prop, falling half the height of the stage and springing back up again and again, striking different poses. After coming down, she completed her first song, “Get the Party Started,” and the crowd went crazy.
Prior to performing “Raise Your Glass,” she did a quick outfit change from a glittery bodysuit to an amazing frilled pink jacket. During this song, she walked down the catwalk to interact with fans. She also got back into the harness and completed more intense tricks. Her stunts are unlike anything you will see another music artist do. The final song I was able to catch was “Who Knew.” After another quick outfit change, she performed this song nearly still at the microphone stand while her dancers acted out the lyrics on the catwalk. It was a beautiful performance.
The first three songs made me wish I had shelled out for the ticket. The show was amazing, and the set was nothing short of breathtaking. The concert resonated throughout Boston as I left Fenway Park, and I jammed out the whole twenty-minute walk to my car. This was only her third city on the tour, and I can’t express enough how worthy it is of your time. The tour will continue in the U.S. through October, and you should absolutely catch it if you can.
