Chin Up, Kid Releases Music Video for “Incubus,” feat. Danny Rose of Hollywood Undead
Indianapolis’s Chin Up, Kid has released their new single “Incubus.” The song features Danny Rose of Hollywood Undead and is out now via We Are Triumphant Records.
Commenting on the song, lead guitarist Jon Benjamin states:
“‘Incubus’ is the part of our record that deals with the temptations brought on by the Hollywood life. The main character absolutely indulges in this. It was so great working with Danny on this song! He absolutely brought our vision to life with his additions!”
Chin Up, Kid was formed in 2013 in Indianapolis. The band self-released two EPs independently before signing with Standby Records in the winter of 2016. 2017’s Swing With Your Eyes Closed and 2018’s self-titled LPs were released under Standby Records, with each charting on multiple Billboard Charts. Chin Up, Kid heavily toured the U.S., supporting both releases between 2017 and 2019.
Throughout that time, they performed with acts such as Neck Deep, Metro Station, and Assuming We Survive. They also appeared on select dates of the 2015 Vans Warped Tour and 2018’s Final Cross Country Vans Warped Tour. In 2019, Chin Up, Kid went on an indefinite hiatus, with each member focusing on different musical endeavours. Although Chin Up, Kid was inactive for over a year, they continued breaking previous streaming records and charted on Apple Music in both 2020 and 2021.
In February of 2023, the band reunited with a lineup of Josh Cox, Jon Benjamin, and Quintin Johnson to record a stand-alone single in celebration of Chin Up, Kid’s ten-year anniversary. Discovering the creative chemistry was better than it had ever been, the band decided to spend the next six months recording their next full album, Blackheart Social, adding Zeke Vasquez to the lineup in the process. After completing the record, Chin Up, Kid signed with We Are Triumphant in July of 2023. Blackheart Social is slated for release on March 22, 2024.
