Emmy-nominated artist, author, activist and musician Laura Jane Grace has released “Dysphoria Hoodie,” the first song to be lifted from Grace’s highly anticipated, forthcoming studio album.

The single is Grace’s first offering since 2021’s At War With The Silverfish and you can check it out here:

Speaking about the song, Grace says:

“This is a song about gender dysphoria and your favourite hooded sweatshirt. Any trans person out there knows what a dysphoria hoodie is — it’s the hoodie you wear when feeling low and dysphoric and you don’t want the world reading your gender. Hide your body shape, hide your head, disappear as much as you can. Wrap yourself up in it like a blanket anywhere you go. Make your flesh become cotton. Instant protection from the outside world. My dysphoria hoodie happens to be an Adidas hoodie, so yes, this is in fact really just a tribute song to my favourite Adidas hoodie.”

Along with the single, Grace has announced a number of US performances for the fall and winter with more details on the forthcoming album due shortly.

Stay tuned for more information on Laura Jane Grace’s forthcoming album to be announced soon.

I have an unhealthy obsession with bad horror movies, the song Wanted Dead Or Alive and crap British game shows. I do this not because of the sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll lifestyle it affords me but more because it gives me an excuse to listen to bands that sound like hippos mating.
