Kim Brogli Premieres Her Cover of Madonna’s “Crazy For You”

New on the Country scene is Nashville native Kim Brogli with her cover of Madonna’s “Crazy For You,” exclusively premiering on V13! Putting her own country twist on the otherwise classic pop song, Brogli’s out-of-the-box creative style is on full display as she challenges the boundaries of Americana and Country genres. Originally recorded and released by Madonna in 1985, the single appeared on the soundtrack for the movie Vision Quest.

Brogli comments:

“I knew I wanted to include a cover on my debut EP and toying around on my guitar one day, I started playing this song. It is so intimate and vulnerable yet bold (as Madonna has always been) for a woman to admit she is falling in love and crazy for this man.”

What Brogli describes as “the ultimate female power ballad,” “Crazy For You” eloquently paints a picture of two people coming together and opening themselves up to the feelings of longing. Brogli remarks “it’s one of the songs I can play a thousand times and never get tired of.” Her country twist slows things down and digs deep into the soul of the song, beginning very intimately and continuing to build as her vulnerability disappears and she boldly expresses her feelings for someone.

An out-of-the-box creative coupled with a fierce drive, work ethic and unique ability to pull at your heart, Nashville-based singer-songwriter Kim Brogli is making her mark among Nashville songwriters. The middle Tennessee native was always a writer and storyteller at heart. She recalls, with laughter, being the ADHD kid who was constantly in trouble at school, making the other kids laugh with her outrageous humour and telling stories that kept kids laughing or in suspense til the end. In the fourth grade, Kim tried out for the school choir and didn’t make it. “I was a sensitive kid and have always been harder on myself than anyone else could ever be. So, when I didn’t make the choir, I never sang again publicly. I just thought…I must be a terrible singer. It never dawned on me I was nervous and shy.”
