Situated in Toronto, Canada, is a sextet of gnarly musicians who, when their powers combine, become the genre-bending progressive rock/metal band known as Driftglass. Active since 2008, Driftglass released their self-produced The Stranger EP on April 12, 2010 and their debut full-length, All That Remains, on August 20, 2014. From their new LP, we’re pleased to offer a download of the song “Thrown Out To Shore”.
Having elements that compare to bands the likes of Tool, Mastodon, The Tea Party, Porcupine Tree and Rush, there’s no denying that Driftglass is rooted in all things progressive. That being said, their rock/metal concoction is much more than just “prog” and holds hints of many other genres as well. With their current incarnation finalised in 2008, Driftglass has continued to craft their art and hone their sound, all of which can be heard on their newest release.
