Richmond-based indie rock ensemble Wine & Warpaint is thrilled to announce the release of their latest single, “I Don’t Mind.” Available on all streaming platforms, this track is a potent blend of fierce melodies and introspective lyrics, showcasing the band’s signature blend of indie rock, pop-punk, and post-hardcore sounds.
“I Don’t Mind” stands out as a cornerstone piece in Wine & Warpaint’s upcoming album, Disassociate, slated for release on June 14th. The single delves deep into themes of personal resilience and the complex interplay between surrender and strength.
Recorded in Richmond and produced by Taylor Bess, the track features robust guitar riffs, dynamic drum beats, and O’Neill’s compelling vocal delivery. The production captures the raw energy of their live performances while introducing a polished studio sound that marks a new phase in the band’s evolving artistic journey.
Brandon O’Neill expounds on the meaning of the track:
“This song is about accepting the paradoxes that exist within ourselves but also calling out the dangers of fundamentalist thinking, It’s hard to have nuanced opinions in our increasingly polarized society, but I wanted to try to create a vision for how that might look.”
In support of “I Don’t Mind,” Wine & Warpaint is embarking on a tour, kicking off on May 21. The band will perform in several key cities across the Midwest, starting in Jeffersonville, IN, on May 22, followed by Chicago on May 23, Milwaukee on May 24, Omaha on May 25, and concluding with Tulsa on May 26. Fans can expect high-energy performances and a deeper dive into the band’s new material, promising an unforgettable live experience.
The release of “I Don’t Mind” follows the band’s successful win at the Player Plus Studio Sessions powered by Fender, which spotlighted them as a standout act in the global unsigned band scene. The track anticipates the thematic and sonic directions of their forthcoming album and reaffirms Wine & Warpaint’s place in the modern music landscape as innovators and storytellers.
