Hozier Hits Walmart Amphitheater in Arkansas with Heavenly Notes [Photos]

Winds were howling and blowing furiously when Hozier took the stage at the Walmart Amphitheater in Rogers, Arkansas. The weather set the stage for a perfect evening with the Irish crooner and his band of amazing musicians. Hozier came up to the mic with just him playing on his acoustic guitar and a blue spotlight above him lighting him up. This all sets up an ethereal, otherworldly feeling, and he takes you to a different world with this. He started the set with the song “De Selby” and ended with him singing in Irish. After that, he turned up the heat and went into the rocking “Jackie And Wilson.”

This set the mood for a terrific evening. He played songs from all his albums and brought out his fantastic opening artist, Allison Russell, to help him on “Wildflower and Barley” and the closer to the night, “Work Song.” One of the most intimate moments of the night had to be when he went into the crowd for the encore and played “Cherry Wine” (my favorite)! After that, he went on stage and gave an incredible speech about peace and all of the worldwide protests before he went into “Nina Cried Power.”

If you get a chance, check out Hozier if he comes to a town near you. The visuals are great, the musicians are on point, and it was overall just a really fantastic experience. You don’t want to miss it.
