On February 4th, the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, BC, was the perfect place for Josh Ross’ first tour as a headliner, “The Trouble Tour.” The venue was at maximum capacity; the show had been sold out since last September.
Most people arrived before the opening act by Brock Philips, who rose to the occasion in front of his local fans, who were singing his songs and enjoyed his full set.
Josh Ross hopped on the stage and the fans went crazy, females were screaming, and at some point, someone threw a red bra to the stage, Josh seemed flattered. He started singing some of his hits like “Red Flags” and “Single Again,” did a potpourri of other popular classic songs and then proceeded to sing other classics like “What’s Up?” and “Last Kiss.”
In the middle of his set, Josh Ross brought to the stage an incredibly special guest, singer and writer, and local Country legend Dallas Smith, the former lead singer of the band Default, sang one of the band’s greatest hits, “Wasting My Time.” After that, they both delighted the crowd by singing “Iris,” the popular song by the Goo Goo Dolls, which is a regular on Josh’s performances.
Josh continued with more of his songs, arriving at the end of his set; second to last, he sang “Ain’t Doin’ Jack” right after he left the stage for a couple of minutes and returned to the stage with the last surprise of the night, wearing a Jersey of the local Football team, BC lions.
The fans left the venue looking like they wanted more music from Josh, euphoric and very satisfied with the show.
