Alesia Lani ‘love like lofi’ album artwork

Soul songstress Alesia Lani releases her new single, “homebody,” a track lifted from her forthcoming EP, love like lofi, set for release on March 8. Check out her other single, “Lean Into You.”

“homebody” sees Lani changing direction, moving toward a chill sound, encompassing lofi production and warmer tones, revealing various facets of her artistry. Lani explains, “I’m continuing to nurture the soft and vulnerable side that I found within myself on my ‘Self-Titled’ record.”

Along with sync placements on VH1’s Caught in the Act: Unfaithful, Lani has shared the stage with artists like George Clinton, The Ohio Players, Guns N’ Roses, Lizzo, Megan Thee Stallion, Childish Gambino, and Billie Eilish, as well as performing at SXSW, Toronto’s Indie Week Fest, Austin City Limits, and Jai Thep.

“homebody” rolls out on a low-slung, laid-back melody made up of elements of R&B, soul, and hints of hip-hop. A whistling filament flows through the tune, infusing it with a relaxed motif as Lani’s seductive vocals imbue the lyrics with a desire to stay home, slow down, and “make love all night.”

Laced by soft, zen surfaces, gentle guitars, and velvety, painted harmonies, “homebody” delivers an erotic neo-soul ambiance.
