Brother,” the new single from A Permanent Shadow, the musical collective around CP Fletcher, is now complete with a music video premiere that captivates listeners with a bold and intimate track showcasing the artist’s unique sound and boundless creativity.

“Brother” marks a compelling expansion of A Permanent Shadow’s evolving musical catalogue, skillfully merging elements of indie-pop and post-punk. Crafted around the absence of singer CP Fletcher’s brother, this single delves into emotionally charged themes that strike a chord with the artist. “Brother” creates a reflective path for listeners to walk, contemplating life-altering scenarios, nostalgic moments, and the uncertain future.

Channelling the spirit of early 80s New Wave music, “Brother” is a catchy track enriched with captivating percussive intricacies, guaranteed to get listeners moving to the beat. This song is a vibrant and intense experience that reflects the artist’s dedication to exploring new musical horizons and is a sneak peek of A Permanent Shadow’s upcoming full-length LP, which was recorded by the usual team of CP Fletcher on vocals as well as multi-instrumentalists and producers Valentí Nieto and Albert Català.

The LP will be the third record released by A Permanent Shadow and will tackle topics loosely related to dysfunctional topics on a personal and geopolitical level. Musically, the LP will feature a guitar-driven sound that strays from A Permanent Shadow’s previous releases.

CP Fletcher comments:

“I feel a sense of sadness for not having a brother, but I’m fortunate to have a beloved sister. I celebrate my brother’s enduring spirit, which I believe is always with me.”

A Permanent Shadow has been making waves in the Barcelona music scene, refining a unique sound that explores an unparalleled sonic terrain. A band for want of a better description, the band’s only permanent fixture is CP Fletcher, who, for his recordings, surrounds himself with a rotating cast of musicians and producers. Fletcher used to be a drummer in various bands that went nowhere, so at one point, inspired by David Bowie’s death, he decided to form his band as a singer. The band involves various collaborators, although two musicians so far feature on all recordings: Albert Català, a classically trained piano player, helps CP whip the demos into shape, while renowned producer Valentí Nieto usually provides the finishing touches in the studio.
