Phoenix, AZ’s The Oxford Coma are a thinking human’s aural wet dream. Part progressive, part psychedelic, part grunge, and all rock, this quartet’s music is just as calm and calculated as it is erratic and emotional. Today, we’re pleased to debut the “Inflatable Patriots (Touching People In Their Sleep)” lyric video, a song which, for us at least, conjures up images of Dr. Ian Malcolm and his theories on “controlled chaos”.

The single is taken from the guys’ latest and self-released album Everything Out of Tune which was recorded and mixed with THE Steve Albini at Electrical Audio in Chicago. Grab your own limited edition colored vinyl LP copy or digital versions here.

Commenting on the single, the Billy Tegethoff remarked: “This song is about hypocrisy, obliviousness, injustice, brainwashing, hipster racism, and cat noises.”

What’s more, the band recently booked a few December West Coast shows which will see them hit Oakland, Portland, and Seattle with additional shows to be announced. Dates and deets below!

The Oxford Coma Tour Dates:

12/08 – Golden Bull – Oakland, CA w/ Bitter Lake, Name
12/09 – Fifty Pub – Salem, OR w/ Bitter Lake, Moon of the Wolf, and Wolves at War
12/10 – Highline – Seattle, WA w/ Chrome Lakes, NIL
