Seattle-born singer-songwriter Ella Ruby today unveils her debut, “Baths,” a song tracked at The Music Box Studios in Idyllwild, CA, with producer Jon O’Brien (Coma Culture), guitarist Eric Cannata (Young the Giant, Coma Culture), and pianist Grace Freeman (née Gal Musette). Thereafter, “Baths” was mastered at Bova Lab Studio by Philip Shaw Bova.

According to a recent press release, the single “opens with a gentle but insistent beat, which soon flows into the hush and murmur of the rest of the song, marked by Ella Ruby’s clear vocals and effortless guitar. As the artist describes, the lyrics delve deeply into ‘my relationship to my body, to childhood, and to the comforting and convoluted notion that we all exist alongside the past and future versions of ourselves.’ the song ends with the concise and heartfelt request, ‘hold me like I know I’ll hold my child.’”

Along with the new single is the animated lyric video. Ella Ruby’s debut EP, baby blue, is also in the works.
