Cirque Du Soleil‘s show, Totem, has been touring all over the world and, last week, made a stop off in London for the start of a short residency at the stunning Royal Albert Hall and, PureGrainAudio got invited down to witness the dress rehearsal along with family, friends and guests of the touring show. Having attended two other Cirque productions already, this was most definitely an opportunity not to turn down as, to describe the show as a spectacle would be something of an understatement.

Now, if you’re a fan of anything Cirque Du Soleil related, Totem will not disappoint you on any level. It’s got everything you would expect from a Cirque production. From the bonkers storyline to the humour, the banter, the crowd interaction right through to some jaw-dropping theatrical routines this time comprising of rollerskating, trapeze acts and more, Totem had fans on the edges of their seats for the entirety of the two hours. In the midst of all the jaw-dropping acts, the theme based around the evolution of humanity ties the collection of breathtaking routines together nicely with just enough slapstick humour and downright wierdness you associate with a Cirque show.

Totem was born in 2010 and since then has been wowing Cirque fans all over the world. This time UK fans may only have been treated to a London stop off so we’re hoping that it won’t be long before the rest of the UK gets the opportunity to experience this weird and wonderful chapter in the Cirque story because it’s well worth it.
