Holy molly does this band ever have moxy. In fact, they have more than moxy, the have Spunk! The Stouffville, Ontario-based death punk act is all about bending genres and breaking rules, and now, after three albums, they’re serving up their first-ever studio recording. Dubbed S.S.O.S., and out today, August 10th, via Acid Vision Records, the ten-track slab of potent punk was entirely written and performed by Matthew Tomasi (also a member of Nicole Dollanganger). Grab a copy here and stream the goodness below.

S.S.O.S. was engineered by Chris Craglia while mixing and mastering was done by Arthur Rizk, who also ripped the killer guitar solo heard on the song “Fast Dad”. Commenting on the new joint, Tomasi told us the truth: “‘S.S.O.S.’ (Secret Society of Spunk) is the end of the first chapter of Spunk. From anger, self-destruction and mutilation, ‘S.S.O.S.’ powerfully harnesses this energy through self-reflection and growth in a new fierce and violent way.”

Tomasi continues, “Relating to one another’s pain and suffering helps us grow individually and together. There isn’t much to say, S.S.O.S speaks for itself and is an open and vulnerable look into my mind.”
