Fronted by vocalist Nuno Rodrigues (of WAKO fame), the Portuguese hard rock three-piece Pântano, also consists of guitarist Miguel Mateus and drummer Arlindo Cardoso. The newly-formed project, whose band name translates to “swamp”, serves up a dirty, grunge-filled Southern sound fitting of their moniker. Whether you’re into Kyuss, Alice in Chains or DOWN, these tunes are for you.

Their ripping new single “Semi-Alma” is out now and today we’re stoked to help debut the music video thereof. Commenting on the tune and video, Nuno Rodrigues notes:

“Imagine… That we are transported to a dystopian Portuguese desert; muddy, sweaty and sticky. Hearing on the vast horizon a march dragged half-souls, paced by a kind of pulse that compels them to walk up to us. We flee, beginning to rain, we fade the hot drops that fall morosely until they fill the crater that parades roughly before our eyes. The so-called half-souls(semi-almas) as teleported, are now within the rugged crater, engaging female figures but also halters, dancing in a dithyrambic manner, seducing us into it, orchestrated by a docile noise that goes harmoniously into us as the water that drowns our bodies, closing this portal, which swallows us up like a swamp.”
