Washington, DC needs some freaking change and local punk quartet The Split Seconds are helping to push that very agenda. Their recently-announced sophomore studio recording, Counterfeit Reality, is slated for a June 8th release and in short discusses “a culture in chaos.” The album will preface their upcoming July Warped Tour spot, amongst other extensive 2018 touring. New to the band? All good, we’ve got a debut of the stern single “Impulsive Automatic” available for you hear, here!

For some further group history, the quartet was born from the demise of The Coastals (Dischord Records) and quickly peaked the interst of Altercation Records’ owner Travis Myers who dropped their debut, Center of Attention, in June 2017.

Speaking of the rad new single, vocalist and guitarist Drew Champion noted: “I wrote this song in a hungover haze of cigarette smoke, drinking burnt coffee, bouncing back and forth between the studio and the road. It’s about being compulsively committed to rock and roll and the lifestyle that goes along with it – the drive to express pent-up aggressive and destructive urges, and the deadly dopamine drip of alcohol, adoration, adrenaline, and applause.”

Upcoming Shows:

06/30 – “Counterfeit Reality” release show at The Black Cat
07/18-21 – Vans Warped Tour
