Hugely popular singer/songwriter Lucy Spraggan brought her acoustic show to Leeds playing to a sold-out, packed to the rafters Brudenell Social Club on what the Derbyshire singer commented was “the city she was most looking forward to playing on this tour.”
So, with only an acoustic guitar, an infectious personality and an equally infectious set of songs for company, Spraggan set about showing why tickets for this intimate tour were highly sought after. Joking between songs, her connection with the crowd makes this feel more the singer has invited her mates around for a few beers and a singalong in her lounge rather than an actual gig which is a talent very few singers possess but one Spraggan pulls off effortlessly.
As well as playing all the crowd favourites such as “Last Night” and “Fight For It”, Spraggan gave the crowd the opportunity to choose parts of her set list and you get the feeling that, had it not been for the small matter of a curfew, nobody would have compained if the singer had kept on playing long into the night.
