Iapetus is a progressive/atmospheric melodeath metal duo from Long Island, NY which consists of band members Matthew Cerami (vocals, guitar, bass) and Jordan Navarro (guitar, drum programming, keys). Six years in the making, The Long Road Home could not be a more fittingly titled release. The guys, who play all of the instruments themselves, want to stress that their new release is available as a totally free download!
The band’s Matthew Cerami (vocals, guitar, bass) commented on the song, “Lachrymae Rerum, a latin phrase, roughly translates to ‘a tear for how the world goes,’ and it stands as a reflection on mortality and the human condition. A rough version of this track was featured on our first EP, over four years ago; we’re happy to present a new version as the single from our debut album — what is easily the most aggressive song we’ve ever written.”
