Belgian dream pop five-piece Newmoon have shared “Helium”, the powerful opening track from their forthcoming debut album, SPACE (due October 14th via PIAS). The band has also announced European tour dates which will include a UK headline show at London’s The Garage on December 8th.

As intricate melodies melt into shimmering reverbs, frontman Bert Cannaerts reveals “Helium”s beautiful soundscapes were some of the most difficult to construct. “‘Helium’ is all about being trapped in a spiral of negativity and being unable to escape it. The feeling that, even though it might be obvious that things are not good for you as a person, it feels so much more comfortable existing in that safety net, rather than going out on a limb to find something better. It was one of the most difficult songs to write for the album. We spent a long time working on the music, and the lyrics are some of the most personal on the record. Writing so openly was something that took me a while to get used to.”

European Tour Dates:

12/03 – Vera – Groningen (NL)
12/06 – Cassiopeia – Berlin (DE)
12/07 – Hafenklang – Hamburg (DE)
12/08 – The Garage – London (UK)
12/10 – Ancienne Belgique – Brussels (BE)
