Rock outfit, New Mayans, just released their single, “Jezebel”, a bat out of hell anthem with grizzly guitar licks and a head-banging beat. With a rich and diverse palette, New Mayans takes us further down the rabbit hole that provides more insight of the mad world they’ve constructed in their upcoming concept album, Odyssey, due out later next year.
Following the success of their well-received debut single, “Universe”, New Mayans shift gears away from the softer seventies synth tones into a darker arrangement of heavy distorted guitar work and hooks echoing influences of seventies and nineties alternative rock. Lead singer, Swiggy, has described his musical style as “Mad Max meets Ziggy Stardust”, which makes sense with the release of their latest single, “Jezebel”.
