Freya – “Colossus” [SoundCloud Song Stream]

After three years and a slight rearranging of their line-up, New York’s Freya have returned with arguably their strongest offering to date. This new album, Paragon of the Crucible, sees the band explore post-apocalyptic themes with an impressive mastery both lyrically and sonically. Adding to the all-encompassing approach they take to their creative output, guitarist Brendon Flynn also created a number of thematic paintings that form an equally awe-inspiring visual presentation as well.

The Skinny: After three years and a slight rearranging of their line-up, New York’s Freya have returned with arguably their strongest offering to date.

In anticipation of the full-length, Freya have posted a stream of their new song “Colossus”, which Flynn explains is the, “gateway to the story of the album; A mythology created by people in the future to explain the cataclysmic end of the civilization that proceeded theirs.” The new Freya full-length Paragon of the Crucible will be released on November 5th via Holy Mountain Music (N. America) and Deadlight Entertainment (Europe).
