Bill Steer from Carcass’ side project Firebird, took the stage for their blues-rock themed performance. The night was all good grooving, stoner rock with some serious 60’s undertones. The photos were taken with a Nikon D200, Sigma 24-70mmD 1:2.8 EX DG.
Widows Old Angel’s blend of heavy riffs and electronica made them the best surprise band I’ve seen in a while. Stacked full of crazed energy and talent, these guys tore the stage apart. I captured it on my Nikon D200, Sigma 24-70mmD 1:2.8 EX DG.
Solace, one of my all time favourite bands, supporting Orange Goblin on their Christmas show tour. Amazing set, brutal, heavy as anything. Fun times! Even joined at the end by Ben Ward to sing. All captured with a Nikon D200, Sigma 24-70mmD 1:2.8 EX DG.
I’d watch these guys anytime I can, and I do! Orange Goblin ALWAYS put on the best shows! This, their Christmas tour, which they do annually in London, but this year they brought it around the UK with some of the best support I have seen them with in years. Relaxed and intense, this gigs was one of the best I’ve ever seen them play! Shot on a Nikon D200, Sigma 24-70mmD 1:2.8 EX DG.
This show had me very excited, Raven’s Creed features Orange Goblin’s Ben Ward on vocals, members of Iron Monkey and Sabbat doing thrash metal, and I wasn’t disappointed! A truly brilliant sphincter emptying set immortalized on a Nikon D200, Sigma 24-70mmD 1:2.8 EX DG.
Heavy psychedelic stoner rock heavyweights Atomic Bitchwax, with Monster Magnet’s Ed Mundell and Godspeed’s Chris Kosnik, played an intimate, but very busy Old Angel in Nottingham, one of the undiscovered gems in the UK stoner scene. Bitchwax fuzzed out and all-together it was a very special gig, with the Truckfighters on the same bill. Shot with a Nikon D200, Sigma 24-70mmD 1:2.8 EX DG.
Taints intricate and layered approach to their music always has me mesmerised and watching them play at their finest will always stay with me. Sadly no more, but still rocking! The night’s events were captured on a Nikon D200, Sigma 24-70mmD 1:2.8 EX DG.
Job For A cowboy came screeching into the home of metal and put on an immense showing. They were full of energy and spit and got the old Academy 2 boiling over! The madness was captured using a Nikon D200, Sigma 24-70mmD 1:2.8 EX DG.
This is one of my favourite bands. Intense, thick, assaulting noise, Matt Pike is truly one of the best guitarists of all time! I caught the show on a Nikon D200, Sigma 24-70mmD 1:2.8 EX DG.
Coventry’s finest heavy riffing stoner band General exported their madness to Stratford, the home of the bard was shaking all night long. Pummelling drums, immense bass, growling vocals and over powering guitar mixed together to make the whole room tremor. General are an experience not to miss. Got the shots on a Nikon D200, Sigma 24-70mmD 1:2.8 EX DG.
