Purchase, NY band, Moving Mountains (MovMou) are making ripples in the rock/post hardcore/emo scene with their 2011 release, Waves. Instrumentally the album adheres to basic four chord progressions with melodic guitar overlays portraying the emotion of each song. On top of the music are Gregory Dunn’s vocals once again consisting of lyrics about a friend that passed away. The loss of his cohort can be felt in the flowing lyrics, which are occasionally strengthened by shouting.

Triple Crown Records artist Fireworks debuted their new music video for “Arrows” on at this location this morning, Sept 22nd. The video was directed by Thom Glunt. The track “Arrows” is off their album ‘Gospel’ which was released on May 24th via Triple Crown. The band is currently on the “Clash Battle Guilt Pride Tour” as direct support for Polar Bear Club along with Balance And Composure, Make Do and Mend and Such Gold.

Gospel is the sophomore release from the Detroit based indie/punk band Fireworks. A few years ago I stumbled upon their debut, All I Have To Offer Is My Own Confusion and I find myself listening to it quite frequently. I can easily see the same thing happening with this new disc, Gospel.
