Pop punk band Hit The Lights played a fantastic show on May 14th in NYC as part of the Pure Noise Records Tour. The room was packed with avid fans and it was wild!
Otep hit the stage at The Studio at Webster Hall on May 9, 2016 in NYC. She took the stage by storm and played an amazing set.
A semi-crowded Studio at Webster hall was the site of the recent NYC show with Eyes Set To Kill; a killer sister rock duo made up of Alexia and Anissa Rodriguez from Arizona with slamming guitars riffs and solid vocals. The ladies have been on the scene since 2003 and last year toured as one of the bands on the Hottest Chicks in Rock tour. Catching up with them at the local club was a treat; their sound was tight and plunged off the low ceiling of the Studio. The night includes support groups, Close To Home, Kissing Candice, and the very talented The Relapse Symphony.
The Studio at Webster Hall is a place where new bands go to get discovered. Or where old bands go to get re-discovered. The latter case in Fates Warning, the CT-based progressive rock band formed in the 80’s. My favorite rock sub-genre, drummer Mike Portnoy once said that Fates Warning were the leader in this genre and inspired Dream Theater. The crowd at Webster was lively as Fates Warning front man Ray Adler crisply belted out old and new tunes from their 11 studio albums. Many die-hard where right on top of Adler singing along with his every word.
