It’s been a busy week around the rock world so here’s a quick round up of some of the news stories that you might have missed…
With their debut, For Those Which Are Asleep, The Skull has really managed to create an exciting and powerful disc that will not disappoint older fans of doom, and is sure to attract newer ones to the fold.
The Skull, the new band featuring original members Eric Wagner (vocals) and Jeff “Oly” Olson (drums) of American doom metal legends Trouble alongside longtime Trouble bassist Ron Holzner, guitarist Lothar Keller (Sacred Dawn) and former Pentagram guitarist Matt Goldsborough, will release their debut album For Those Which Are Asleep on November 4th. In advance of the record’s release, The Skull have premiered the new song “Till the Sun Turns Black.”
These two songs are “teasers” of what’s to come on the as-yet-untitled, Autumn 2014 debut release from The Skull. When I read the bio I knew right away I was going to dig this disc; the band, comprised of ex members of Trouble and Sacred Dawn, lay down two of the strongest, doomiest tracks I have heard in quite some time.
