When three solid bands come to town you are almost guaranteed a great show. We were there the other night as Stars in Stereo, Redlight King and Halestorm all took the stage. Lzzy Hale and Halestorm played a sold out show at Terminal 5. Playing a solid set of 13 songs, she paused a moment to explain that she had been getting over a cold from her UK tour. Judging from the crowd they would have never been able to tell as her voice was crisp and tight. Redlight King and Stars in Stereo are ones to WATCH in the next few years.
There’s nothing like discovering a massive sounding rock album full of huge booming anthems to put a smile on your face, so it’s nice to stick on the self-titled debut from LA rockers Stars In Stereo and find yourself listening to an album that does precisely that. Putting themselves under pressure right from the outset with gargantuan opener “The Broken”, the LA rockers do themselves no harm by following it up with an album full of arena-filling gems.
The crowd was electric at the Roseland Ballroom as Stars in Stereo and Young Guns opened for an very energetic Halestorm and a dynamic Bullet For My Valentine. Bullet played to the packed crowd complete with crowd surfing and the occasional mosh pit.
Wow! The self-titled debut from Stars In Stereo is an unbelievably-catchy, female-fronted hard rock record. The first few notes of the opener “Broken” immediately sucked me in with its glossy, groovy vibe and it kept my undivided attention until the very end. Seriously, this is one hell of a disc! Bec Hollcraft’s vocals are commanding, powerful, and really nothing short of fantastic.
