U.K. artist North has kicked our weekend off on the right foot with the release of her new single “Breaking Me Down.” Check out the single now, which is out via Dreamscope Media Group and off an upcoming EP due later this year.

Arizona’s epic sludge-rock trio North are back to present the soul-shattering title track from their upcoming debut release with Prosthetic Records.

We connected with Mazz-1, drummer for the New Orleans post-punk band The Pests, to learn about some of his gear, and how it helps to impact the band’s well-known sound.

After three long years spent with barely a whisper from the group, Tucson, Arizona’s North have returned with their appropriately named second LP, The Great Silence, out August 28, 2012 on Cavity Records. The album is the long-awaited followup to 2008’s What You Were, which was named one of 2008’s Top 40 full lengths by Decibel. “We went through such a dark period of time, where we didn’t know if this record would ever be finished, or if the band would even continue,” said Zack Hansen (drums, electronics).
