The Eternal Light Of The Unconscious Mind is the sophomore effort from the Andorran progressive metal band Nami. I was not familiar with the group when I sat back to listen to this new release and as such was not sure what to expect. What I found though was a lush, crunchy metal record that meanders between classic rock, death metal, and prog blurring the line between the genres as it so does.

Andorra’s progressive metal alchemists Nami have released a lyric video for the song “Silent Mouth,” which features Loïc Rosseti from German post-metal group The Ocean. The track comes from the band’s second full-length album The Eternal Light of the Unconscious Mind, which was mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Katatonia, Witchcraft) at Fascination Street Studios in Örebrö, Sweden. Hailing from Andorra, a small country located between France and Spain, Nami are the embodiment of the next great wave of European metal to emerge from the continent. This record is the follow-up to Nami’s debut Fragile Elements.

Andorra is a small European country bordered by Spain and France and well-known to the world as a popular vacation destination. It’s also the birthplace of the monstrously talented NAMI. This relatively young Progressive Metal quintet (mostly unknown to North American audiences) is the creator of one of last year’s most powerful debut albums, Fragile Alignments.
