Edmonton’s own Ten Second Epic headlined a killer show in Canada’s Capital on March 28th, 2012. It was their first time back in Ottawa in a very long time, and as such they treated their fans with an extra long set (AND returned for an encore!), performing various songs from all of their albums throughout! Ottawa had not forgotten about TSE, and it was clear that TSE had not forgotten about Ottawa! Amazing set to say the least.
The Flatliners, one of my personal favourite bands, played an amazing show on the night of October 16th, co-headlining with Living With Lions. They played a solid set, balancing older with more recent songs, and totally killed it. Amazing energy from both the band and the crowd! Photos taken with a Nikon D90, 14-24mm f/2.8.
Dinosaur Bones performed an amazing set on the night of October 7th, playing a number of songs off their latest release titled My Divider. They had not performed in Ottawa in quite some time, it was a pleasure for fans to welcome them back after so long. The set absolutely did not disappoint! Images via a Nikon D90, 14-24mm f/2.8.
This Is A Standoff played an amazing and energetic set in Ottawa on the night of October 28th. This show was part of their first cross-Canada tour in two years, Ottawa was certainly stoked on being able to welcome them back! They headined that night and put on a killer show. Akoufen, a Franco-Ontarian punk/rock band, started the night off at Mavericks on October 28th, opening for Sparrows and This Is A Standoff. This 4-piece group put on a great show, starting the night off on an amazing note. Awesome set photographed with a Nikon D90, 14-24mm f/2.8.
Ottawa punk band Landslider performed a sick set as one of the openers for Sparrows and This Is A Standoff. This 4 piece band really started the night off on an amazing note, I’d love to see them again! Sickness shot with a Nikon D90, 14-24mm f/2.8.
Sparrows, a 4 piece band from Ottawa, Ontario, stopped in their hometown on the night of October 28th to perform while on tour with This Is A Standoff.
Broadway Calls, a three-piece punk-rock band from the States, performed a sick set at Mavericks in Ottawa last week. They opened for Living With Lions and The Flatliners and along with The Arteries, really set the energy for the night. Amazing performance! Images via a Nikon D90, 14-24 mm f/2.8.
Living With Lions are without a doubt, one of my favourite bands to photograph live! They played an absolutely killer set for a crowd who definitely was not afraid to get right into the performance. Great set and amazing energy combined made the whole thing a blast to shoot! Images taken on a Nikon D90, 14-24 mm f/2.8.
UK punk band The Arteries put on an insanely fantastic show the other night, opening for headlining band The Flatliners. I had never heard of them before, but they absolutely blew me away and would love to see them back in Canada again soon! We snagged some pics on a Nikon D90; 14-24mm f/2.8.
The Strain, a young band who is fairly new to the Ottawa music scene, performed a great set at Mavericks on the night of October 7th. They came all the way from Wakefield to play and definitely started the night off on an amazing note! Their energy was shot with a Nikon D90, 14-24 mm f/2.8.
The Riot Before played an outstanding set in Ottawa on July 29th. Playing a full band set and finishing with a raw, acoustic version of “Backstage Room” made for a performance that more than blew away the crowd. Images snagged on a Nikon D90, 50mm f/1.8.
The Marxmallows also opened for The Riot Before in Ottawa on July 29th. They came all the way from France to share their music with the crowd, and definitely weren’t short of jokes to tell the audience throughout their set! Very entertaining band. Snagged the pics on a Nikon D90, 50mm f/1.8.
