Ottawa-based band The Goodluck Assembly performed to a massive crowd on a beautiful afternoon at Bluesfest, opening for Mother Mother and RUSH. Brothers Bruce and Mike Libbos led the performance with a ton of energy and enthusiasm which was reciprocated back by the crowd who seemed very familiar with their music. This band has made a great name for themselves in Ottawa and we hope to see they perform again soon!

One of the most high-energy sets of the day – this is a band that I LOVE but that I had never had the chance to see live. They put on an insane show (I’d say that the photographs almost speak for themselves here!). I would absolutely love to see these guys play again, their set was unreal and full of energy from start to finish and you could tell that the crowd would say the same.

What We Signed Up For is the newest release from the Toronto-based pop punk act July. After a mostly unnecessary 30 second intro, the band launches into some of the best pop-punk I have heard in a while; the opening song making it clear that this is going to be a solid, riotous half hour of quality music.

Canadian pop-punk band July released a song just in time for the holidays entitled “This Christmas.” You can stream it for free via the SoundCloud player below. Since the group’s inception in early 2010, the band has gathered a steady following in Ontario through a tireless work ethic and fantastic live show. Combining huge pop hooks with today’s pop-punk sound, July will appeal to fans of the genre both young and old.
