As usual, The Flaming Lips did not disappoint with the extreme creativity of their sets. Giant plastic balls, red smoke and confetti were all to see at this show.
The Sheepdogs played an outstanding set at Bluesfest on July 7th. With a performance like the one they gave that night, be sure to keep an eye out for them! Check out the images shot with a Nikon D7000, 50mm, f/1.8.
Whale Tooth performed early in the evening on the second night of Bluesfest 2011. That said, it was an extremely energetic set especially with regard to the lead, and all in all, tons of fun! We got the goods thanks to a Nikon D7000, 50mm, f/1.8.
Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros played an excited set on the first night of Bluesfest. Not being afraid to get the crowd involved (or even get in the crowd) made for a really exciting show! Their antics were captured using a Nikon D7000, 50mm f/1.8.
The Fires Of were back at Lee’s Palace along with Slowcoaster and Laganza. This Toronto based Indie band is well worth a look, new CD coming soon! The night was captured on my Pentax K10D, F 50mm 1:1.4.
Ministry’s last tour, the “C U LA Tour”, stopped by Toronto’s Koolhaus. I was really grateful to see the show and see Ministry’s founder Al Jourgenssen rock the haus with opener Meshuggah! Although, not the easiest concert to shoot with a fence in the way. Problematic pics shot with a Canon EOS 20D, Canon 17-85 USM IS.
Cleveland’s own, Chimaira, played an enthusiastic set opening for All that Remains, with other supporting acts by Five Finger Death Punch and Divine Heresy. These guys definitely know how to ROCK out! A Canon 20D & Canon 17-85mm f4-5.6 USM IS captured the images.
Toronto’s Cancer Bats played an amazing headliner show in the stiflingly hot and sweaty Opera House. The air conditioner died and the Opera House became the Sauna House. Gross sweat caught on a Canon EOS 20D & Canon 17-85mm f4-5.6 USM IS.
Florida-based punkers, Against Me!, played a great opener for Mastodon. While there, we interviewed drummer Warren Oakes and he is one heck of a nice dude!
