Bury Tomorrow have just premiered the album track “301” featuring a guest appearance from labelmate Jamey Jasta of Hatebreed.
Ahead of their Ghostfest headliner set, metalcore titans play an intimate, career-spanning gig in Reading. Read our review here.
Motörhead’s Motörboat will embark on its second voyage September 28 through October 2, 2015 on Norwegian Sky, departing Port…
Dutch metallic hardcore bruisers Born From Pain continue stomping their way through the European hardcore scene with more of the same brutal, uncompromising metallic thuggery we’ve come to expect from the band.
Volbeat end their touring cycle for Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies with a fine mix of new and old favourite in Norwich. Hopefully the UK won’t have to wait too long for them to return to these shores.
I recently sat down with Frank Novinec, guitarist of the mighty Hatebreed, to discuss the band and their very recent record, The Divinity Of Purpose (out via Razor & Time on January 29, 2013); an album that is not only heavier, but also ups the ante from their previous releases. Here’s what Novinec had to say.
Hatebreed may have a new home for The Divinity Of Purpose, but as the opening seconds of “Put It To The Torch” smash you in the face it’s crystal clear that little has or will be changing in Camp Hatebreed. Yes, the Connecticut metal heavyweights are back and are bringing with them another slab of brawling “toughcore” metal.
With his bands Hatebreed, Icepick and Kingdom Of Sorrow, Jamey Jasta is well-known as one of the most intense vocalists in the metal/hardcore scenes. His reputation and skills has also got him guest appearances on songs for bands such as Winds Of Plague, Biohazard, Sepultura, Napalm Death and many others. This said, after years of hard work Jasta has released a solo effort simply titled Jasta; for which he had help from Nick Bellmore (Kingdom Of Sorrow, Toxic Holocaust) and Charlie Bellmore (Kingdom Of Sorrow).
Being from a little town in Idaho, going to a big festival-type concert is a big deal. The aptly named Mayhem Festival made a stop in Nampa (near Boise) this week, and with a line-up that includes Chimaira, Hatebreed, Lamb of God, Korn and several other of my favorite bands, making the four-hour drive was not even a debate.
Hardcore kings Hatebreed are midway though their “Decimation Of The Nation Tour”. They are headlining a bill that consists of Born Of Osiris, Hate Eternal, Cannibal Corpse and Unearth. With all of these bands on this tour it is truly the stuff metal dreams are made of. Recently I had the opportunity to catch Hatebreed on this tour and man was I impressed.
On June 22nd, 2008, Hardcore legends Hatebreed stopped through Toronto, Canada while co-headlining on the Jagermeister Music Tour. The Opera House was abuzz with happy fans and our Stoked interviewer Mitch Brown caught up with the legend himself, Jamey Jasta. Jamey had just woken up to do this interview, but was surprisingly astute. Once underway, Jamey talked about Hatebreed as well as his various other bands, project, record label and much more. What’s funny about the interview is that Mitch didn’t seem to mind the random cord dangling in his face throughout the interview… Oh well, at least Jamey got a kick out of it.
