Long live grunge rock. It’s nice to see bands aren’t yet forgetting the best movement in rock and roll since the 1960s. Atom Smash, a five piece band from South Florida is a true throwback to the brilliance of the early ‘90s. The band, led by lead vocalist Sergio Sanchez, is modern grunge at its best, combining all the great elements of the era along with a few surprises. Describing the sound of the band, Sanchez says…

Fans of the alternative/modern rock band 10 Years, rejoice! The group is back and will be releasing their newest offering Feeding the Wolves on August 31st. The band has two singles that have been certified Gold and their song “Wasteland” reached Number 1 on the Alternative and Billboard Modern Rock charts. I recently chatted by phone with guitarist Brian Vodinh about the new record and band’s plans for the upcoming year.

Josh Todd, vocalist for the Grammy Nominated rock act Buckcherry, took some time out of his extremely busy schedule to speak with me about the band’s newest release, All Night Long. This is the group’s fifth full-length disc and while it contains all of the trademark Buckcherry elements that fans have come to expect, I feel it also improves on them as well. Each song stands on its own and has that gritty, unapologetic feel that is trademark Buckcherry.

Living Illusion’s debut album self-titled Living Illusion (2007) established the band as an innovative force that uncovered a sound which showcased their melodic and progressive hard rock style. With the release of their second album Suffering (2010), it has only further reinforced their distinctive sound and demonstrated their passion, evolution and growth as musicians and songwriters within the rock genre.

2009 marked the debut of new Evans Blue frontman Dan Chandler, the St. Louis singer who was selected after an extensive nationwide search, as well as the independent digital release of the band’s third album evans|blue. According to guitarist Parker Lauzon, “The transition was virtually flawless; Chandler is an easy guy to get along with, and he keeps a very open mind when it comes to songwriting, which is refreshing.” Chandler adds, “I think you just click with some people, and in this case it really feels like there’s a mutual respect between everyone in the group. It feels like I have known these guys longer than I have.”

Man The Mighty are a hard rock band from Carpentersville, IL a suburb of Chicago. Formed by guitarist Tim Tournier and Vocalist Derek Smith, Man The Mighty have been pushing the musical envelope with insightful lyrics, heavily melodic guitar riffs and powerfully driven backbeats produced by drum and bass since 1999.

One of the true innovators of alternative metal is definitely the Deftones. The group has been together now for over twenty years and in that time has carved out one of the most prolific careers of any modern hard rock band. The group just released its highly anticipated sixth studio album Diamond Eyes on May 4th and it is significant for the fact that it’s the first Deftones album released since the terrible car accident that left bassist Chi Cheng severely…

I recently had the good fortune of speaking with Ryan McCombs, the lead singer of Drowning Pool. We chatted at great length, not only about the band’s newest self-titled release and upcoming tour, but also about the many other things the band is involved in. You may not realize it, but the band is heavily involved in working with the USO and the troops stationed over in Iraq. McCombs spoke enthusiastically about The Wounded Warrior Project…

Recently I spoke to the newest Five Finger Death Punch member, guitarist Jason Hook who actually hails from Oakville, Ontario, Canada. Jason was without a doubt an awesome guy to talk to and anyone interested can check out his solo work at his official website www.jasonhook.com. Without a doubt, Five Finger Death Punch is one of the fastest rising stars in metal music today. In barely five years since forming, the band has become one of the elite…
