As of late, Canada’s east coast has been a burgeoning birth place for great metal bands. Recently I got the chance to speak with Scott Miller, vocalist and guitarist of The Daisy Anthesis, a hot new band who release an album entitled, Surface And The Sky, via Diminished Fifth Records. I asked Scott about their history as a band, the album and what The Daisy Anthesis has in store for the near future. Here’s how it went.

After years of writing music together, the band released their debut EP Wrecking Ball on April 20th, 2010 which put the brothers on the map. Canadian musician KO opened up over the phone regarding the context of his music, his past, his journey to where he is now, and his plans for the future. City and Colour has announced plans to unveil the first single “Fragile Bird” from the new album ‘Little Hell’. Premiere details are listed below. This will be the 3rd solo album for singer-songwriter Dallas Green under the moniker City and Colour. The album titled ‘Little Hell’ is scheduled for release in Canada on Dine Alone Records June 7th, 2011 and is the highly anticipated follow-up to 2008’s ‘Bring Me Your Love’, which was certified platinum in Canada.

Sick Puppies recently stopped by Last.fm to do four acoustic songs, “All The Same”, “Odd One”, “Maybe”, and “You’re Going Down” for the site’s Discover Sessions. The band were also interviewed by Last.fm and talked about their transition from Rock to Pop radio, their songwriting technique, and the first records they owned. You can watch the interview below.

The Summer Set is a pop rock/powerpop band from Scottsdale, Arizona that formed in 2007 and released their first EP on September 30, 2008 titled …In Color. In December of 2008 The Summer Set released their EP Meet Me On The Left Coast which included their Christmas single, “Love By Our Side”, a b-side titled “Can You Find Me” and an Usher cover, “Love In This Club” as a bonus track.
