The new release from Rise Against, Appeal To Reason, reads like a social commentary on the state of affairs in the world. Tackling subjects such as global warming, the war in Iraq and the economy the band offers up a vicious tirade against a majority of the current events going on all around us.
In the past few years the death metal scene has become way too crowded with run of the mill, cookie cutter bands and while I think the genre is great, I also think it suffers from the influx of mediocre acts that have flooded it. Nowadays, it seems that everyone is jumping on the bandwagon.
Still Remains are back, and with a killer album. Hailing from Grand Rapids, Michigan, this metalcore power house wants to bring nothing but real metalcore (not any of that pussy shit) to the fold. Even though the band has only been around for 5 or 6 years, their reputation has grown from a small band, to that of a HUGE act, performing…

Lonely Road is the second studio album by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, which was released on February 3, 2009. The first single off the album was “You Better Pray”. The song “Pen & Paper” was released as a free download on the band’s website. Three weeks before the debut of the album, the songs “Represent”, “Pull Me Back” and “Believe” were made available for free streaming from their website.
Sliding Bend Sinister’s Stories Of Brothers, Tales Of Lovers into the car stereo, I was greeted by what’s since become one of my favourite songs of 2008. So much did I enjoy “The News” that I couldn’t actually get through the whole record on my first few attempts as I’d find myself constantly starting it over to be greeted by the chirping birds and soothing whistling that would soon explode into the Vancouver-based band’s signature piano-driven upbeat indie rock.
