UK artist Nippa unveils his debut EP, Homegrown, blending elements of R&B, dance, rap, and raw soul. The EP features guest spots from Blxst and Jordan Ward, as well as producers like KAYTRANADA and Pino Palladino.

Talking about the EP, Nippa shares, “‘Homegrown’ is about me staying true to who I am and where I’m from, no matter where I end up.”

In July, Nippa released the title track, featuring South Central rapper Blxst. The song connects London and Los Angeles through two artists shaped by their communities, hard work, and honest stories.

Listeners later heard another side of the EP through last month’s “Kacey,” featuring Jordan Ward. The bright song says that travel and fame still cannot match the attraction of a hometown crush. Its split-screen video shows this contrast by moving between Los Angeles and London.

Entry points include the title track, riding a measured, thumping beat topped by creamy R&B vocals backed by soft yet radiant harmonies. The track slides on smooth sonic layers, luring listeners in with polished style.

“Just Vibe,” a personal favorite because of its silky flow, travels on a finessed, syncopated rhythm. Nippa’s vocals reveal gentle textures, while velvety vocal harmonies expand the scope of the song.

A raw, potent piano gives “Bittersweet” a dynamic feel. The hip-house groove takes on a mesmerizing quality as Nippa reveals his innermost thoughts.

“Am I too focused, doing too much? / Is this a moment, or is this a rush? I am not that innocent either, I am just a bittersweet sinner.”

“Kacey (feat. Jordan Ward)” merges flavors of R&B, soul, and pop into an inviting listen. Whereas the closing track, “I’m Scared To Be Left Alone,” focuses on Nippa’s evocative voice and glowing harmonies that escalate, infusing the tune with a mounting sensation that diminishes to a haunting bassline.
