In this episode of Ampocalypse, Damian FitzGerald is joined by Gregg Deal from Dead Pioneers for another 2000Trees special, as he faces the ultimate festival survival scenario.
With the world outside the festival falling apart, Gregg has to decide how best to survive inside 2000Trees. From securing the essentials and recognising that “water is life”, to figuring out who actually has the skills needed when festival life suddenly becomes permanent, the conversation quickly turns to how a new community might begin to take shape.
Gregg considers who should step up to lead, whether those who arrived prepared would suddenly find themselves at the top of the food chain, and the advantages of keeping a mobile base of operations rather than settling in one place. There is also the small matter of keeping everyone sane, with music becoming just as important for morale as food and water are for survival.
Could 2000Trees become the foundations of a new society, or would festival politics bring everything crashing down before the apocalypse even had the chance?
