The Kyle Gass Band Joins the Cardboard Sessions
Cardboard Sessions and Ernest Packaging invite you to a new session featuring the Kyle Gass Band, featuring Kyle Gass of Tenacious D.
Classically trained. In comedy, at least. As 50 percent of Tenacious D, Kyle Gass is 100 percent serious rock. Well, mostly. Welcome to a new Cardboard Sessions featuring the Kyle Gass Band.
Kyle is instantly recognizable as half of the GRAMMY Award-winning band Tenacious D with Jack Black. He’s been playing guitar since he was eight years old, and when he picked up the cardboard Echopark jazz acoustic guitar, his talent really takes center stage as shown on “Tremendous.”
There’s a certain magic when humour and musicianship collide in an honest way, and this band knows exactly how to live in that pocket. While Kyle’s unmistakable personality and wit are always just beneath the surface, what really shines here is the intentional songwriting and the band’s undeniable chemistry. Nothing feels like a joke… it just happens to make you smile. And as a bonus, Kyle and his band gave us a second performance with “Manchild.”
This Cardboard Sessions performance presented by Ernest Packaging is equal parts tongue-in-cheek and musically dialled, a reminder that great songwriting doesn’t have to take itself so seriously to hit hard.
