Strat Andriotis Premieres His Transformative Album, ‘The Wolf Sleeps Alone’
Joined by some masterful musicians, Strat Andriotis premieres his groovy new album ‘The Wolf Sleeps Alone.’
It’s not hard to detect the unbelievable musical chemistry and creativity that conspired together in the writing and recording of Strat Andriotis’ new album The Wolf Sleeps Alone. Joined by bassist Vince Di Francesco and drummer Vince Karcza, Andriotis is an accomplished guitarist and composer from Hamilton, Ontario.
The album features nine new compositions, all recorded in a trio setting. The album came together through hard work and creative interplay among the three musicians. As any wise composer would do, Andriotis gave these songs time to grow and evolve. The trio played them live for about eight months before recording them. This allowed them the opportunity to fine-tune these songs while building their own musical connection with each other.
Commenting on The Wolf Sleeps Alone, Andriotis states:
“It is a transformative album that encompasses all styles of instrumental jazz.”
The album is set to be released internationally on September 4th. This is certainly a career highlight for the talented Andriotis, originally from Greece, but raised in Canada. Despite his talents and experiences as a jazz-focused composer, he wasn’t that exposed to jazz until he discovered Miles Davis’ In A Silent Way when he was 17. From there on, he became focused on being a professional musician. Andriotis has recorded numerous albums over his career, including eight as a leader. He has also had the privilege of collaborating with Grammy-winning pianist Gonzalo Rubalcaba, violinist Jerry Goodman (Mahavishnu Orchestra), and bassist Tony Levin (King Crimson, John Lennon).
Andriotis is a dedicated and devoted student of music, and The Wolf Sleeps Alone shows that he’s still very much a musician who’s still evolving.
