Sam Zalta Engrosses You with the Premiere of “Forever’s Not Enough”

Sam Zalta’s atmospheric musical world is something to behold. The slow-burning indie pop song is a duet between Zalta and singer Mimi Pretend. “‘Forever’s Not Enough’ is the second single I’m releasing for my upcoming album, but the track represents an end of an era. It tells the final chapter of a very intense creative and emotional journey that spanned the course of a couple of years. We pushed ourselves to our physical limit on stage over that time, and this song is a diary entry/back and forth dialogue between the two of us, realizing that we’d reach the end of that creative era. I enlisted Mimi Pretend to sing/play the part of my former partner, Adeline (name changed for privacy), on this track and across the album. My friend Ana Becker sings with me in the second half, and there’s a special cameo from my dog Frank at the very end.”

Known for his work as Nola Gras and as a touring member of post-punk band Bambara, Sam Zalta is a talented songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Essentially a lifelong musician, he has been writing music since he was a teenager. His music is distinctive, with hazy, immersive soundscapes inspired by dream pop, shoegaze, indie pop, and the classic traditions of old folk music.
