Public Image Ltd (PiL) Announce First North American Tour in 8 Years
Public Image Ltd (PiL) will launch their first North American tour in eight years on September 3rd with a second leg confirmed for 2027.
John Lydon’s Public Image Ltd (PiL) will return to North America this fall for their first tour across the continent in eight years. The tour, billed “This Is Not…The Last PiL Tour,” begins on September 3rd, 2026, in Pioneertown, California, and runs through October 9th in Nashville, Tennessee. A second North American leg has already been confirmed for February and March 2027.
All tickets are available through local venues and the band’s official website.
The 2026 itinerary includes major stops in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago (Riot Fest), Minneapolis, Detroit, Toronto, New York, Boston, Atlanta, and Nashville, with Plague Vendor appearing as special guests on all dates.
The upcoming North American run follows a successful series of UK and European performances in 2025. After the deaths of his wife Nora and longtime friend and manager John “Rambo” Stevens in 2023, Lydon considered stepping away from touring, but renewed support from fans encouraged him to continue performing.
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Lydon reflected on returning to the stage:
“I think live Public Image is a ferocious band… I feel fear, torment, anxiety, self-doubt, all of those things before I actually get onstage. But then once onstage, you drop all the ego and all of that trepidation, and you pile into it, and you find that that’s where you truly belong.”

PiL have also released a new live album, Alive, recorded during last year’s tour and available through A Way With Media. The band are currently working on a new studio album scheduled for release in early 2027.
After fronting the Sex Pistols, John Lydon formed Public Image Ltd in 1978. The group became one of the defining acts of the post-punk movement, earning five UK Top 20 singles and five UK Top 20 albums while blending rock, dub, dance, folk, and experimental music.
Roberts joined the band following the departure of longtime drummer Bruce Smith at the end of 2023.
A second leg of North American dates will run from February 17th through March 24th, 2027.
