Mastodon Release Anticipated Album ‘Narrow Deep’

Since the announcement of their upcoming album Marrow Deep, fans have been sitting patiently, waiting to hear the next era of Mastodon, and on August 28th, fans received access to the critically acclaimed album through all streaming platforms via Loma Vista Recordings.

The album comes five years after their last release, titled Hushed and Grim, and builds on what the founding members, Brann Dailor, Troy Sanders, and Bill Kelliher and new members Nick Johnson and Joao Nogueria have learned and experienced personally in those years.

The album draws on the Three Fates of Greek mythology and the fragile threads connecting life, loss, and destiny. Marrow Deep channels the experiences of the past five years into an album even more expansive than the last release, with an adventurous, emotional sound compared to past releases.

The album features a stacked lineup of guest performances, including Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age, Neil Fallon of Clutch, Randy Blythe of Lamb of God, Nate Newton and Ben Koller of Converge, Joe Duplantier of Gojira and one of the most legendary bassists of all time, Geezer Butler of Black Sabbath.

Just ahead of the album’s release, guitarist Bill Kelliher sat down with Colin Young of Hardlore to discuss it, and it’s a must-watch interview for Mastodon fans.

Narrow Deep is now on all streaming platforms, and the band will celebrate the release with “The Poisonous Weapons Tour,” taking them across America with a few shows in Canada, joined by Deafheaven and Alcest for all dates.
