Available now on all major streaming platforms alongside its visualizer, the track serves as the lead single for the upcoming collaborative EP, EMERGE M♡DE MIKU, set for a full release this September.
The Debut of the BEYOND BORDERs Initiative
First teased during the sold-out JAPAN MUSIC VOCALOID showcase at Anime Expo in Los Angeles, “Miku-Maxxing” marks the official launch of BEYOND BORDERs.
Engineered by Japanese IT and media giant Dwango, the global initiative aims to bridge Japan’s pioneering Vocaloid creators with prominent Western artists, producers, and songwriters.
“Miku-Maxxing explores the intersection of music, technology, and virtual creativity, vividly showcasing how virtual singers and cross-border collaborations are helping shape the future of music.”

The EMERGE M♡DE MIKU EP features an ambitious lineup designed to connect Japan’s Vocaloid scene with contemporary Western electronic and pop music:
EMERGE M♡DE MIKU features an unprecedented lineup of artists creating original music using Hatsune Miku, including Grimes, Odetari, George Clanton, Frost Children, slayr, and XAMIYA. The EP also brings together acclaimed Vocaloid producers jon-YAKITORY, SatapanP, and picco, creating original music that bridges Japan’s Vocaloid scene with contemporary Western music.
Accompanying today’s single is an official music video set in a glitching, surreal “Cyberland.” Combining low-poly aesthetics, painterly animation, and mixed-media design, the video follows Hatsune Miku and a lone heroine racing through a collapsing digital world overtaken by corrupted code.
What is Hatsune Miku?
Developed by Crypton Future Media, INC., Hatsune Miku is music synthesizer software that allows users to generate vocals by inputting melodies and lyrics. Over nearly two decades, user-generated content transformed the software into a global cultural phenomenon, spawning live hologram concert tours, extensive merchandising, and a worldwide fan base.
